I am using the Marc Jean Evolution #4 Tenor 701 on my Ted Klum Florida Model hard rubber mouthpiece.
Pros: There is an immediate and substantial brightening of my tone and sound, compared to the fabric mouthpiece that I was using. There is also much less resistance and more ease of playing, with a fuller sound in the upper register, more ease and rounder sound in the lower register, and an overall better playing experience. Presumably, this is all due to freer reed vibration, compared to the fabric ligature.
Cons: This ligature was not made specifically for the Florida mouthpiece, and is just a tad too large, and just fits and holds the reed in place at the absolute limit of screw tightening. Adjustments of the mouthpiece on the neck have to be made with extreme care. I have to take the neck/mouthpiece off of the horn, grip the mouthpiece by the shank, and make adjustments by carefully turning the neck, not the mouthpiece, to avoid displacing the reed.
My suggestion for improvement is for Marc Jean to tweak this ligature in some way to improve the fit on the Florida model mouthpiece.
